Below I have listed some of the top guitar learning software available on the internet. I have tried out each of these learning guitar software packages and given my honest opinion on what I think about them. I have listed them in a side by side comparison, so that you can read these reviews and decide which one you would like to further investigate.
Although many of these packages come pretty close, because I chose only to review the ones I think are the best anyway, I would have to say that some are better suited for beginners than others. Read the reviews on what I have said about each and I am sure you will find something that suits you. These are all pretty high quality products.
COMING IN FIRST PLACE
Jamorama is unsurpassable when it comes to guitar learning resources. The content within this package are not only easy to understand, but the most thorough guitar lessons I have seen.Let me tell you, this is top notch when it comes to an interactive guitar tutorial.
The former ‘DegreesK’ guitarist, Ben Edwards, presents Jamorama, what I believe to be one of the best guitar learning software. Jamorama teaches you everything from the bottom up about playing guitar, from novice to professionals looking for a refresher.
It’s a pretty heavy package weighing in with not only 148 video guitar lessons, but 26 tracks to Jam with, tons of guitar tabs and its very own trade mark interactive software to help you with your practice sessions. The guys who worked on Jamorama must have really put in a lot of effort, because it really has about everything you need to have you playing guitar up to speed in no time.

COMING IN SECOND PLACE
Another really great package! Personally, I think this is just about as good as the package I rated number one. This is a VERY close second for sure.
Guitar Tutor Pro teaches not only the basics of guitar, but all the way through to some pretty advanced techniques and guitar soloing too. This package teaches you everything from basic chords to how to improvise and play solos using popular modes and scales.
Weighing in at 3 full books, 400 audio files and over 300 exercises, you won’t go through all the material feeling disappointed. This package takes time to go through, but it is concise for what it teaches. It’s a lot of great high quality learning material.
My only gripe with this learning guitar software package is the lack of videos. However, with such high quality books, charts, examples and audio included in Guitar Tutor Pro, you aren’t missing much. Plus if you factor in the interactive tutorial software included, videos seem almost obsolete.

COMING IN THIRD PLACE
To be honest, I only rated this lower than the others because it’s only a book. However it’s probably one of the better books on learning guitar I have seen online! This book covers issues that even go beyond the scope of most guitar books, such as ear training and tempo.
Long time professional guitar player and teacher, Mike Hayes, has been listed in the grammys for his instrumental guitar work. So you know when you read this book its written by a real professional. So no worries about the credentials of the author, that’s for sure.
For an idea of what’s in this book, let me just say that it not only teaches you the basics but well beyond, and in such a way that you will be playing along with your favorites in a short time. It has great 3D chats and diagrams on how to play chords, scales and other unique, yet impressively practical, instructions.
Mike teaches you how to practice and play by ear so you won't have to rely on the same old tablature to play your favorite tunes too. This is one great book for sure. To bad there aren’t any videos or software to go along with it. However, if you just want a great book, this is it.

COMING IN FOURTH PLACE
I listed this book because it is a good book for the bargain bin people. Its one of the lowest priced complete guitar lesson books on the internet that I could find. Yet this book still has everything you need to get started learning the guitar.
It covers from how to tune, how to play chords, to basic music theory in general. This book has plenty of chord charts and patterns in an easy to understand manner that matches the title of "guitar made easy". Other great lessons in this book also helps you avoid the many common pitfalls of budding new guitar players and how to avoid bad habits before making them.
This book is certainly not the best guitar book out there, but it is certainly one of the more practical ones. If you are just looking for a good beginners guide to playing guitar and are on a tight budget, than this book is certainly for you.
